Program Overview
The NC State College of Veterinary Medicine will host the annual short course for the American College of Zoological Medicine board preparation, June 4 - 8, 2012.
The five-day didactic course provides intensive in-depth information on important issues in zoological medicine. The course is designed to help participants prepare to take ACZM boards; it includes discussions on exam blueprint, studying, test taking strategies, and practice examinations (essay, multiple choice, practical, and slide identifications). Proposed areas of emphasis include fish, invertebrates, reptiles, birds, small mammals, elephants, and hoofstock infectious diseases.
The course will begin at 8:00am on June 4 and run through 5;00pm on June 8. Attendees who are flying should plan to arrive the evening of June 3 and should not schedule departing flights any earlier than 7:00pm on June 8.
Instructors
Suzanne Kennedy-Stoskopf DVM, PhD, Dipl, ACZM is coordinator for the course, which will be team taught by multiple ACZM diplomates.
Registration Fees
The course is limited to 30 and there will be a course minimum of 20. Registration is $600 for the five-day course and must be received by May 8, 2012. It will begin at 8:00am on June 4 and end at 5:00pm on June 8. Registration includes all course materials as well as dinner Monday, Tuesday and Thursday night. Attendees who are flying should plan to arrive the evening of June 3 and should not schedule departing flights earlier than 7:00pm, June 8.

Location & Lodging
This course will be held at the NC State College of Veterinary Medicine at 1060 William Moore Drive, Raleigh, NC. A block of rooms has been reserved at the Ramada Inn Blue Ridge, 1420 Blue Ridge Road, Raleigh, at the rate of $75 plus tax per night. Hot breakfast buffet is included in the room rate. The hotel is next to the College of Veterinary Medicine so participants can walk to class. Call 919-832-4100 and reference Group Code CGACBP. Reservations must be made by May 20, 2012, to take advantage of the discounted rate. The local airport is Raleigh-Durham International (RDU), which is approximately ten miles from the CVM.
