Dr. Davidson is a native of Chattanooga, Tennessee and completed his undergraduate studies and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 1984. His residency training in comparative ophthalmology was performed here at NC State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Davidson became board certified in ophthalmology and joined the faculty at NC State in 1987. He is the author of numerous scientific publications on topics including intraocular and laser surgery techniques in animals, optics, infectious diseases such as toxooplasmosis which afflict the eye, and growth factors relevant to lens metabolism and cataracts. Mike is married and has a young daughter named Alsey. He is an avid basketball and baseball fan. He enjoys reading and playing soccer.
