Specialty

Nanotoxicology, Dermatotoxicology, Percutaneous Absorption, and Novel Transcutaneous Drug Delivery.

Research Area

Research program focuses on the toxicity of environmental and novel pharmaceutical compounds. This involves assessing the toxicological effects that topically applied drugs or chemicals have on the skin, dermatotoxicity and absorption in both in vivo and in vitro model systems. Recent interest is in the toxicity of nanomaterials, carbon nanotubes, quantum dots, fullerenes and silver nanoparticles .

Current research involves the mechanism of toxicity of nanomaterials and cell uptake pathways and biodistribution studies.
