Areas of Research/Study

Avian Histopathology

My interest is in the study of the reactions of avian tissues to injury. My discipline related professional activities have focused on the histopathology of spontaneous diseases and comparison of these changes with those produced under a variety of controlled experimental conditions. I have provided histopathology support for research on Marek's herpes virus induced tumors and transient paralysis, and viral-induced diseases including infectious bronchitis, Reo virus, and polyoma virus. Microscopic study of responses of avian tissue to infections by Mycoplasma and Pasteurella has been part of my professional activity.

I have as a major objective contributing to an environment for education at the DVM and graduate levels. I remain dedicated to using the materials derived from spontaneous diseases and experimentally induced diseases to further the education and development of veterinarians and researchers.
