Program in Veterinary Clinical Pharmacology
Program Description
The research program in veterinary clinical pharmacology at
North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine
consists of studies designed to define and improve rational
drug therapy in animals. The research focus consists of studies
in a wide variety of animal species, including dogs, cats,
horses, ruminants, zoo animals, reptiles, fish, and birds.
Current studies focus on the disposition of antibiotics, antifungal
drugs, anti-inflammatory drugs, gastrointestinal drugs, and
analgesic drugs in a variety of animal species. Studies originate
from our laboratory, or are performed in collaboration with
investigators at NCSU, other veterinary colleges, zoos, or
pharmaceutical companies.

The clinical pharmacology residency at NCSU is in compliance
with the requirements for board certification by the American
College of Veterinary Clinical Pharmacology (www.ACVCP.org).
