How to Schedule an Appointment
We would like to work with you to help solve your pet's behavior problem. Please follow the instructions below if you wish to set up an appointment for a dog or cat-related problem.
- Call the Animal Behavior Service (919.460.8512) to schedule an appointment. Please leave a message if we are not available when you call. We will be pleased to return your call when we are next in the office, generally on Mondays and Thursdays.
- After you schedule your appointment but prior to your appointment, we ask that you fill out a behavioral history form for your pet. Click on Behavioral History Forms to download and fill out either the Canine Behavioral History Form or the Feline Behavioral History Form. Please mail, fax, or e-mail the form to us as soon as possible prior to your appointment.
- Because behavior appointments generally last 2 or more hours, we require a $55 deposit to reserve your appointment time, paid with a credit card or a check payable to the NCSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Your appointment reservation fee of $55 is fully refunded without penalty if you provide 48 hours notice of cancellation prior to your scheduled appointment.
- Our fees for the initial consultation are determined by the amount of time that we spend working with you and your pet(s), charged at $190.00 per hour. Generally, feline cases require 1.5-2.5 hours ($285-$475) and canine cases require 2.0-2.5 hours ($380-$475). We accept personal checks and most credit cards.
- Depending on the nature of the problem, a follow-up appointment may be recommended 4-8 weeks after the initial appointment. Click on Current Clients for more information regarding follow-up appointments.
