As a new service, the Ophthalmology Clinic offers Equine Eye Registration. The purpose of this registration is to eliminate heritable eye disease in purebred horses through registration, research and education. Secondly, this examination provides early detection of eye and vision problems in performance and sport horses. This examination takes about 30 minutes, is inexpensive, and is performed by an ophthalmologist. Please visit the Equine Eye Registration Foundation website or call the Equine Ophthalmology Service at (919)513-6659 for more information.
