Associate Dean and Director of Academic Affairs

NC State College of Veterinary Medicine, one of the top-ranked schools in the nation, is seeking applicants for the position of Associate Dean and Director for Academic Affairs (ADDAA). As a national leader in experiential teaching and learning, we are training the next generation of skilled veterinary health professionals equipped to serve the global community. Our DVM students develop key competencies necessary for success in private practice, industry, government, and academia. The curriculum also includes instruction and practice in teamwork, client interaction, public communication, and clinical reasoning as well as the development of interpersonal and organizational skills. NC State has a world class faculty to train DVM students including faculty specializing in Communication, Veterinary Education and Development, Educational Assessment and Outcomes.

The ADDAA is a key leadership position, member of the Full Cabinet, and oversees the Office of Academic Affairs. This position includes oversight and implementation of the DVM admissions program, curriculum, and accreditation standards. Download the full prospectus here.

The ADDAA is an innovative, inspirational and creative person who excels at building consensus amongst a diverse faculty. S/he supports faculty initiatives in curricular development and creates a cohesive and collaborative culture for the evaluation and ongoing revision of the DVM program.

  • Key responsibilities: Overseeing and evaluating the curriculum, assessment of learning outcomes, admissions and recruitment, and student affairs. These responsibilities will be shared with the Assistant Dean for Education.
  • Required qualifications: DVM or equivalent degree
  • Required experience: Faculty experience at the Associate or Professor level in a College (or School) of Veterinary Medicine
