Cancer Touches Too Many Lives

But every day we see plenty of reasons for hope

At the Animal Cancer Center at NC State, we treat every pet as if it were our own. Our team of dedicated specialists combines leading-edge science with genuine compassion, ensuring that each treatment plan reflects not only the best available medicine, but also what matters most to you and your family.

Here, discovery drives healing. Our research shapes the future of cancer care —across species, across disciplines and across North Carolina.

Powering Breakthroughs

Dr. Mike Sano is harnessing the power of electricity to target and destroy inoperable cancer in a therapy that eliminated 80% of tumors in a clinical trial with horses.

Dr. Mike Sano conducts research with electric pulses.

Because every patient matters — and every discovery brings us closer to a world where cancer is no longer a shared burden.

Our facility includes a biplanar fluoroscopy machine, which uses two X-ray cameras, one on each side of a patient, to capture simultaneous images.
Training veterinary students in the importance of radiation oncology is also part of being a center at the NC State College of Veterinary Medicine.

Behind every breakthrough treatment and successful oncology trial at NC State are the beloved pets who inspire our work. Your support of the Animal Cancer Center provides the vital resources needed to deliver advanced cancer therapies today while discovering the cures of tomorrow. Help us give these extraordinary animals, and the families who love them, more time and a fighting chance.
