Callie Pierce (CVM 2016)

NC State University College of Veterinary Medicine student, Callie Pierce (CVM 2016), is the 2014 recipient of a national Poultry Scholars Award from the American Association of Avian Pathologists Foundation. The competitive scholarship is presented to students based on academic achievement, faculty recommendation, experience related to poultry health and well-being or poultry food safety, and an essay describing career goals. The AAAP Foundation, the charitable arm of the American Association of Avian Pathologists, formed the scholarship program in 2012 to support students enrolled in a curriculum involving veterinary medicine, avian science, poultry science, food science, animal science, or biology who intend to pursue a master’s doctorate, or veterinary degree with a focus on poultry health and well-being and/or food safety. Callie also received the L. Dwight Schwartz Travel Scholarship from AAAP.
