Kentucky native Jenny Evans is the Director of Special Projects and Planning at North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
She was formerly the Veterinary Science Senior Marketing and Promotion Specialist at the University of Kentucky’s Maxwell H. Gluck Equine Research Center. She managed international communications and scientific events and seminars (2009-2018). She was also the international coordinator for the International Equine Infectious Diseases Conference, Inc., a venture she established as a separate non-profit organization (2011-2018).
Evans is a Ph.D. candidate studying Educational Policy and Evaluation (Higher Education) at the University of Kentucky. She received a M.F.A. in Writing (Screenwriting) in 2013 from Spalding University and a B.A. in Public Relations in 2005 from Eastern Kentucky University. She also completed a Certificate in College Teaching and Learning in 2014 at UK.
She has also taught service-learning courses as an adjunct instructor. Evans previously taught Equine Event Planning at UK (Spring 2018), Public Relations Event Planning and Management at EKU for five semesters (Spring 2014 - Fall 2015) and College Writing at Midway University for two semesters (Fall 2014 & Spring 2015).
An award-winning editor and journalist, she previously wrote for The Kentucky Standard in Bardstown, Thoroughbred Times in Lexington, and The Springfield Sun in Springfield (all in Kentucky).
