Gabriel Patrick Mckeon, DVM, DACLAM

University Attending Veterinarian


As the NCSU attending veterinarian Dr. McKeon is responsible for the animal care and use program related to animals in teaching and research. This program conforms to current veterinary medical standards, and applicable federal regulations and standards. In addition to oversight of LAR, he also consults with investigators on the planning and implementation of animal activities and serves as a voting member of NCSU’s Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) and Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC).

Dr. Gabriel McKeon obtained his B.S. in Biology from the University of Oregon in 1997 and his DVM from UC Davis in 2008. He completed a residency in laboratory animal medicine at Stanford University in 2011. He is boarded by the American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine.
