The all new Wolfpack Webinars are intended to connect our community virtually until we can be together again. Each webinar will be 1 hour and have a format similar to the Veterinary Medical Forum Series. A Q&A session will be available at the end of each webinar.

The webinars will be free to those that view them live and $10 for on-demand viewing using Moodle.

Topic: Principles of Oncologic Surgery

Dr. Marine Traverson, DVM, MS, DACVS– Assistant Professor of Soft Tissue and Oncologic Surgery

“A chance to cut is a chance to cure”:  How to apply surgical oncology principles and develop a
practical case-based approach to oncologic surgery in clinics
The first surgery provides the best chance for a cure in a patient affected with a tumor.
Therefore, surgical planning is essential to ensure that the mass is excised completely or
optimize local tumor control with adjunctive therapy. However, decision making in oncologic
surgery can be challenging. Through this lecture, I will give you little tips and tricks that I use in
my approach to oncology cases from biopsy, to tumor staging and evaluation and
interpretation of margins pre- and post-operatively in light of a variety of simple to more
complex oncology cases.

Please note, this webinar will  be offered to attendees via a Live Zoom Lecture for free. Once registered, you will receive the Zoom link prior to the meeting to log on the day of. If you have a question during the lecture, use the chat feature to ask and the speaker will periodically answer questions.

The webinar will also be available on demand after the live lecture for a $10 fee.

Zoom Lecture: 12:15 p.m. – 1:15 p.m.

Registration Fee:  Free for Live Lecture. $10 for Recorded On Demand.
