Hector Cervantes was the 2009-10 President Elect of the American College of Poultry Veterinarians (ACPV), and received the AAAP Special Service Award at the August 2010 awards ceremony in Atlanta, GA. Dr. Cervantes completed an internship in Avian Medicine at NCSU CVM in 1987. He assumed the office of President of the ACPV on July 22, 2009 at the annual American Veterinary Medical Association meeting in New Orleans, and served a one year term as President, and wil serve another one year term as Past President on the Board of Directors of the ACPV. Dr. Cervantes also serves on the Board of Directors of the American Association of Avian Pathologists and the Southern Poultry Science Society.
