{"id":5,"date":"2025-09-16T13:41:56","date_gmt":"2025-09-16T13:41:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cvm.ncsu.edu\/translational-research-in-pain\/?page_id=5"},"modified":"2026-02-27T20:24:33","modified_gmt":"2026-02-27T20:24:33","slug":"home","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/cvm.ncsu.edu\/translational-research-in-pain\/","title":{"rendered":"TRiP"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Our Mission<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Translational Research in Pain (TRiP)<\/strong> team\u2019s mission is to improve pain management in animals and humans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We achieve this through performing high quality, ethically sound, basic and clinical research in the following areas: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Developing methods to measure the impact of pain<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Testing novel therapeutics for pain relief in naturally occurring disease in animals<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><strong>Unraveling the neurobiological signature of pain in naturally occurring chronic disease in animals<\/strong><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<div class=\"ncst-askew-media-text has-custombg-four-background-color wp-block-ncst-mini-story\">\n    <div class=\"ncst-askew-media-text__container\">\n      \n<div class=\"wp-block-ncst-text-column\">\n    <h2 class=\"ncst-text-column__heading\">Driving Change in Pain Measurement and Management<\/h2>\n    <p class=\"ncst-text-column__teaser\">In May, Dr. Lascelles was named the Dr. J. McNeely and Lynne K.
