Testing Requirements

Your dog will receive an exam from the NC State Ophthalmology Service 1 month after study enrollment and once every 3 months thereafter. Each visit will include: sedation, a complete ophthalmic exam, photography and ultrasound of the eye’s drainage apparatus, retinal thickness measurement, and quantitative pupillary light reflex evaluation. A one-time pre-anesthetic blood panel is required at the first visit.

Eligibility

– Must have developed primary glaucoma in one eye in the past 2 months
– Must have a normal opposite eye, besides gonioscopic changes consistent with PACG
– Must have no concurrent systemic diseases
– Must not be on any systemic medications other than monthly preventatives
– Must be well behaved
