2025 Companion Animal Antimicrobial Stewardship Workshop
May 12-13, 2025 Raleigh, North Carolina

This represents the second meeting of companion animal antimicrobial stewards and provides an important opportunity to develop strategies for cohesive and collaborative efforts moving forward. Attendees will build upon progress made towards previously identified challenges and opportunities within companion animal antimicrobial stewardship with three main areas of focus:
- Hospital antimicrobial stewardship programs
- Research opportunities and needs
- Antimicrobial stewardship curriculum
Conference Overview
- Who: Representatives from veterinary schools and key partners
- What: A one-and-a-half day, in-person companion animal antimicrobial stewardship workshop. Topics will include working group updates, including progress made and challenges to implementation of hospital antimicrobial stewardship programs, research opportunities and needs, and antimicrobial stewardship curriculum. A half day will be focused on infection prevention and control using carbapenem-resistant organisms as a model.
