Genetics Study to Identify the Underlying Cause of Gallbladder Mucocele Formation

Description
Currently enrolling Shetland Sheepdogs for a one-time sample collection to better understand the genetics behind gallbladder mucocele formation.
Testing Requirements
If eligibility criteria are met, study staff will collect a DNA sample either by blood (preferred) or a cheek swab, and some information about your Sheltie.

Eligibility
Shetland Sheepdogs diagnosed with or having undergone surgery for a gallbladder mucocele.
Shetland Sheepdogs greater than or equal to 10 years old that can be screened by ultrasound at NC State free of charge.
