Mentorship Program Pairing Alumni with Students Already Changing Lives

“Just being with them, getting to know them, understanding some of their challenges and being able to help with those challenges, it’s very rewarding,” says alumni mentor Dr. Jay Chambers, NC State DVM Class of 1987. “It’s just been a joy to me to be a part of it.”

Connecting the College Community

The association, known as SAVMA, is the umbrella organization for clubs across the College of Veterinary Medicine and hosts student-centered social, professional and support events throughout the year.

The Class of 2028, which is 125 strong after NC lawmakers approved increasing incoming cohorts from 100 last fall, brings extra excellence and exuberance to the College of Veterinary Medicine campus during orientation this week.
