The Maixner Pain Research Symposium, hosted this year by the Comparative Pain Research and Education Center at NC State University, brings together pain researchers and clinicians from North Carolina academic hubs, including Duke University, UNC-Chapel Hill, NC State University, and Wake Forest University, to 1) share exciting new advances in pain research and pain management, 2) stimulate organic collaborative opportunities, and 3) promote professional development of early career students and trainees. This year, our keynote speakers and invited presentations will primarily revolve around two subjects, “Intersection of Pain, Stress and Emotion” and “Pain Across the Life Span.”

Call for Abstracts

The organizing committee invites you to submit a scientific abstract related to pain research.

Abstracts are due on Friday, October 2nd at 11:00pm Eastern time. You will receive notification by Friday, October 16th by 11:00pm Eastern time if the abstract has been accepted for poster presentation. Information about poster board size and format (landscape or portrait) will be provided on acceptance.

Parking

Parking in the front lots of the McKimmon Center is free and usually plentiful. There are
three smaller parking lots on each side of the Center that are reserved for University
employees. Visitors are asked to park in designated visitor parking spaces in order to
avoid ticketing.
