Veterinary Practice Disaster Preparedness Workshop

This free course will teach participants how to create, update, and implement plans to prepare their businesses for emergencies and disasters. The workshop will include a combination of lecture and small group break out sessions. Attendees will have the opportunity to apply lecture material to create or update plans with the assistance of veterinary disaster and emergency planning subject matter experts during the breakout writing sessions. Lecture topics will include: Personal and Family Preparedness, Disaster Program Management, Disaster Planning and Risk Assessment, Business Impact Analysis, Resource Needs Assessment, Disaster Plan Implementation, Training, and Exercises. Participants will learn how emergencies and disasters are coordinated in North Carolina, the important roles for veterinarians, and how to get involved with the NC Veterinary Response Corps.
