NC State Advanced Minimally Invasive Surgery Course

March 11-12, 2023 • 15.5 hours of AAVSB RACE Approved CE

The NC State College of Veterinary Medicine is excited to offer a two-day advanced training course in small animal laparoscopy and thoracoscopy on March 11-12, 2023. This course is designed for surgeons and residents with experience in basic laparoscopy who would like to expand their practice to include advanced minimally invasive procedures. 

Day one will provide didactic training and discussion on advanced laparoscopic procedures including cholecystectomy, adrenalectomy, nephrectomy, herniorrhaphy, lymphadenectomy, and intracorporeal gastropexy followed by a hands-on lab in canine cadavers to practice these procedures. Day two will follow a similar combination of didactic training and laboratory practice and will cover advanced thoracoscopy topics including lung lobectomy, thoracic duct ligation, subtotal pericardiectomy, mediastinal mass resection, and vascular ring anomaly correction.

The course will take place at the NC State College of Veterinary Medicine, located at 1060 William Moore Drive in Raleigh, North Carolina. The NCSU CVM is located approximately 10 miles from Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU).
