Christine Shumka

Bio

Dr. Shumka received her BA in Biology from the University of California at Los Angeles. In 2011, she earned her DVM from North Carolina State University. She worked in small animal general practice in Southern California before moving back to North Carolina in February 2024. She joined the Radiation Oncology service at NCSU as a clinical veterinary instructor in April 2024 and later moved into a faculty position as an assistant clinical professor in the Small Animal Primary Care service in March 2025. Her professional interests include preventative medicine, client education, and preparing veterinary students to become day-one ready primary care clinicians.
