NC State’s CVM Career Services offers a variety of career-building programming throughout the academic year. Here are some of the signature programs we offer.

Registration Opens on April 1, 2026
The College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) Career Fair Fall 2026 is an in-person, tabling event designed for employers, practitioners, practice managers, and veterinary professionals looking to recruit CVM students and recent graduates for employment, externships, internships, and student ambassador opportunities. This event provides an excellent opportunity to connect with candidates and increase your visibility on campus.
The CVM houses the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program as well as the Comparative Biomedical Sciences Graduate Program, which confers Master of Science (M.S.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees.
We anticipate approximately 100 CVM students, recent alumni, and House Officers to participate.
Registration Details
Registration includes:
-Space for two (2) representatives
-One 6-foot table with a tablecloth and two chairs
-Light refreshments
-Name tags and parking
-Opportunity to bring signage, pamphlets, handouts, and giveaways
-Signage must fit within the 6-foot table space and should not obstruct neighboring tables.
-Electrical access is limited and not guaranteed.
Registration Types and Fees
Public Service (Government, Military & Non-Profit) – $150
Small Practice or Organization (SINGLE location, independent or non-corporate affiliation) – $250
Medium Practice or Organization (Group-owned AND/OR multi-site locations within the SAME metro market) – $300
Large Practice or Organization (Multiple locations across MULTIPLE geographical markets) – $350

Spring 2026
Large Animal Hiring and Networking Night

Event Description:
The College of Veterinary Medicine Large Animal Hiring and Networking Night will bring together large animal focused veterinarians, students, faculty, and administration. The CVM will provide brief updates, allow you to meet colleagues, and provide an opportunity for recruitment. This is an in-person event formatted with networking high-top tables and refreshments. Come to network and discuss potential career opportunities, externships, and part-time positions with students and house officers interested in large animal focused careers. We anticipate approximately 40-50 students and house officers would attend. This event will be limited to approximately 15 employers.
Employer Registration Fees:
$150.00: Public Service: Government, Military & Non-Profit
$200.00: Small Practice or Organization: Single location, independent or non-corporation affiliation
$250.00: Medium Practice or Organization: Group-owned and/or multi-site locations within the
same metro market
$300.00: Large Practice or Organization: Multiple locations across multiple geographical markets

Career Connections: Alumni + Student Mixer

Event Description:
Join CVM Career Services and Alumni Relations for a relaxed and welcoming event as we foster career connections between present and past generations of NCSU CVM students. Heavy hors d’oeurves, beer & wine served.
Event open to all CVM alumni (DVM, PhD, House Officer, former faculty). Alumni representatives of non-alumni employers welcome.

VETiquette Dinner

Event Description:
The VETiquette dinner is an annual multi-course dinner event that provides our DVM students an opportunity to network while developing their etiquette skills. Each table has a veterinary professional that serves as a host to engage students in a facilitated discussion.
VETiquette Sponsorship Levels:
$300: Table Host (3 sponsors)
This level provides an acknowledgment in marketing and opportunity for 1 representative to be seated with students during dinner as a table host.
$1,000: Event Sponsor (1 sponsor)
This level provides the opportunity to speak, giving brief remarks (5 -10 minutes) at the dinner, an acknowledgment in marketing, and for 2 representatives to be seated with students during dinner as table hosts.

Fall 2025
CVM Career Fair Fall 2025

The CVM Fall Career Fair 2025 is our largest annual recruitment event that is open to employers, practitioners, practice managers, and veterinary professionals who seek to recruit College of Veterinary Medicine students and recent graduates for employment, externships, internships and student ambassador opportunities. This is an in-person, tabling event to speak with candidates about your opportunities and increase your visibility on-campus. We anticipate approximately 100 students and house officers would attend.
NC Small-Sized Practices Hiring and Networking Night
Thursday, October 30, 2025
5:00-7:00pm
CVM Main Building
This event shines the spotlight on small-sized employers in NC. Come to network and discuss potential career opportunities, externships, and part-time positions with students and house officers.
This is an in-person event formatted with networking high-top tables and casual furniture over refreshments. Approximately 50 students and house officers attended. This event was limited to approximately 15 employers.
(PwP) Professionalization with the Pack Panel Series
Employers are invited to share insights with students through the CVM Career Services Professionalization with the Pack panel series. We anticipate hosting up to 4 employers on each panel and approximately 60 students participating. Career Services moderates each panel. Choose one panel to engage with our students:

This panel will provide tips for how students can communicate their brand on their resumes/CVs
PwP: Networking: Authentic Conversations that Build Relationships
October 14, 2025 – 12-1pm
This panel will highlight how students can confidently approach networking, build meaningful relationships, and communicate professionally.
How to Shine in Your Interviews: Communicating with Confidence
November 4, 2025 – 12-1pm
This panel will highlight tips for effective interviewing from preparing in advance through following up post-interview.
