Mission Statement
NC State College of Veterinary Medicine strives to be the premier institution for training and preparing future leaders in veterinary medicine and research sciences. We are committed to excellence, and a thriving college community is vital to our goal. We recognize that a collaborative community generates the creative thought necessary to discover relevant and effective solutions to complex challenges. We choose to be a culture that values belonging, community, respect and empathy.
Belonging at the NC State College of Veterinary Medicine is defined as the practice of intentionally building a culture that values people and ideas and embraces the meaningful participation of all.
At NC State CVM, it is our vision that the positive lessons of valuing one another will extend well beyond our college community and have broader far-reaching impacts on the future of the veterinary medicine profession.
Community Outreach
The students, faculty and staff of the College of Veterinary Medicine embrace NC State’s mission of community outreach and engagement. CVM representatives are active in the community, the state, the nation and the world.
See You at CVM Visit Day
This program seeks to engage North Carolina college students in a day-long visit to the CVM to learn about the campus, curriculum and application process. Students will engage with faculty, staff and students from various departments at the CVM and receive information to assist them in the application process. Invitations are shared with college advisers in the fall.
College Committee on Wellbeing and Belonging
The committee focuses on developing strategies and actionable items that will help increase connection and collaboration into a great sense of belonging at the College of Veterinary Medicine. Representatives from across the college, including students, faculty and staff, work together to develop and implement strategies aligned with the strategic plan.
