Creating educational opportunities for our students, staff, veterinary professionals, and cat lovers!
What is your proudest accomplishment or favorite project you’ve been involved in that benefited feline medicine and/or welfare?
We are proud of many things. We support important research, provide educational opportunities, and contribute to equipment in our hospital spaces to support our goal to improve feline lives!
Meet Our Technicians:
I am a registered veterinary technician and a veterinary technician specialist in research medicine. I’ve been a Research Specialist here at the NCSU CVM since May 2013.
What initially got you interested in feline medicine?
I’ve loved and owned cats all my life, but when I started working as a veterinary technician in 2009 I quickly noticed the gaps in feline-focused care versus other companion animals, like dogs. Cats are the most common pet in the United States, but they receive medical care far less frequently and research into feline-specific diseases and ailments lags behind. I wanted to do my part to change that!
What Feline Health Center plans or goals are you most excited about?
I am most excited about educating clients about cats and their specific needs when it comes to veterinary medical care.
Tell us about your personal pets at home:
I live at home with my husband and a menagerie of cats, a dog, and a horse. Never a dull moment at my house!
