Danielle Meritet is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Population Health and Pathobiology at North Carolina State University, College of Veterinary Medicine. She completed her undergraduate studies at Arizona State University in 2008 and obtained her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Oregon State University in 2012. She engaged in an NIH-funded post-doctoral fellowship from 2012-2013 during which she developed three simplex polymerase chain reaction assays to detect several common Mycobacterium species in zebrafish. At that time, she returned to her native home of Long Island to practice clinical medicine for three years. In 2019, Danielle finished a dual anatomic pathology residency/Masters program at Oregon State University where she pursued her interests in pedagogy, investigating the effects of error management training in veterinary students learning certain technical skills. She became a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists in 2019.
