Bio

Dr. Brooks performed his graduate work with Dr. John Wallingford at the University of Texas. There, he studied the mechanisms that control the formation and maintenance cilia, which act as critical signaling and fluid propulsion organelles across eukaryotes. He did his postdoctoral work with Dr. Jennifer Zallen at the Sloan Kettering Institute, where he began studying the mechanisms of cranial neural tube closure, a critical early step in the formation of the brain.
