Dedicated Feline Clinical Service
- FHC hired its first staff member in May 2024! The Feline Clinical Technician assists with developing cat-specific areas in the Veterinary Hospital along with further improving feline-friendly handling techniques among students, interns, and residents.
- FHC staff also offers clinical support to specialty services in the The Randall B. Terry, Jr. Companion Animal Veterinary Medical Center and provides devoted patient care for cats undergoing hyperthyroid treatment.

- Located just around the corner of the Terry Center emergency entrance & main lobby is a calm waiting area away from barking dogs
- Includes dedicated “cat parking” spaces & Feliway® spray

- Custom made cat condos for 3 areas of the hospital
- GE® 12S ultrasound probe for cardiology: ideal for feline patients
- Samsung HM70 EVO mobile ultrasound machine for ER & ICU: assists in monitoring and evaluating respiratory issues in felines
Enhanced Educational Opportunities
- An annual Feline Health Symposium with veterinary professional & non-veterinary tracks
- A hospital-wide training initiative
- Interested staff members receive specialized training through the American Association of Feline Practitioners Cat Friendly Certificate Program. Once completed, individuals are deemed Cat Friendly Veterinary Professionals®.
- Feline-focused Continued Education (CE) for the College of Veterinary Medicine’s veterinary technicians, assistants, & staff
